...the best anchor to use on an AWB and should I choose a Bavaria, a Jeanneau or a Beneteau?

Then should I defer buying a GPS until Gallileo is operational?

Just asking /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I find the bennie makes the best anchor, Miss Diane, but you should only sail a garmin or a Lowrance if you're going offshore, and a sharp pencil on a Rocna or a Fortress works best for navigating. CQRs will just slide off the chart table

would this be a troll?

[/ QUOTE ] I think it's irony, which is a completely different matter. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just in case it's not, I am told that a Bav is probably best, because you can detach the keel (make sure you've tied a rope to it first) and it will double as an anchor. [sprints desperately for cover /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif]

I think you will find that any AWB could use a MAB as its anchor........... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I bought a Jeanneau to hold my CQR in place. Its never failed yet, but I haven't had it out in more than 8m, because the chain galvanising only goes the first 10m up the chain, as an obvious cost saving. 1:1 looks so much tidier dangling vertical than dragging all that unnecessary weight at an angle IMHO.
The Jeanneau anchor locker also fitted round my CQR too.
Being posh, I also own a Flook, A Bruce and a Fortress FX summat oruvver. I cant understand why anyone would want to ruin their anchor with one of those heavy Swedish boats on it.

You must use a very light anchor with no sharp edges or crew may sue you for bad backs /cut fingers.Much better still if you never leave the marina at all ,ever. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
