I'm looking for one ideally rechargeable for a small inflatable. Could I get one which would inflate a high pressure airdeck?

LVM make the only one that's reputed to fully inflate tubes without needing a few strokes of a foot pump to finish off. I say reputed to as although I have one I bought second hand last year, I haven't tried it out yet. But I have read posts here saying that it does. It is very noisy and hungry for amps though.

Not sure it would do an air deck.

My GLW she can inflate our Avon redcrest in less than four minutes, that’s slightly less time than it takes me to boil the kettle. She may not be electrified but she can work like lightening.

I never get bored of watching my dinghy inflate like in a speeded- up film,LVM pump, also blasts out the cockpit drains, love it!

I'd certainly go for the LVM. I bought one from ebay - said that the switch was dodgy, so cheap. I resoldered the cable to the switch and voila ! Perfect. You will need a direct connection to the battery, or v high amperage socket: it takes 25Amps !

Just bought a Bravo 10 footpump for £15 at a boat jumble. Gives high enough pressure for air decks, takes 2minutes to pump a 2.7m Avon - job done and no need to worry about Amps :D KISS!!

I've had an LVM for nigh on 23 years - a birthday present from my daughter, originally to fully deflate an Avon Redstart - I sold the boat and replaced the Redstart with another dinghy when I did so a few months later.
I've always had to finish off the airdeck of the three dinghies following the Redstart with a few strokes of the foot pump.

I was just re-reading a review.
The electric pumps are often a bit slow, though I think the super bravo was top tip.
In the end , I think they recomend a £15 cheapo of ebay(or a rechargeable camping airbed type of one) to do the volume, and a footpump to do the airdeck.
Or, just use a footpump. it doesnt take very long.
You'll need to use a foot pump to get the floor hard.

I have an LVM pump. The manufacturer's instructions advise stopping the inflation when the running note of the pump changes, indicating a slow down and the beginning of an overload, with the likelihood of damage to the pump or wiring. This happens before the dinghy is fully inflated.

The pump should be connected directly to the battery and any extension cable should be no longer than necessary and of heavy gauge. The flex fitted to my pump can get quite warm. Like other LVM equipment, including the Aerogen wind generator range, it seems pretty primitive, but does the job - except that you will need a foot pump to finish the tubes and certainly for the airdeck.

Another vote for LVM. But I think now re-branded as Rule

I think you are right the LVM pump was branded as Rule for a time. LVM is now part of Xylem along with Jabsco, Rule, Gleghorn Waring and Flojet.

AFAIK the LVM dinghy inflater pump has been discontinued although suppliers still seem to have stocks

We bought a Coleman 12v cordless dinghy pump a few years ago.

Amazing value at a show, only £20 and it's been great. Inflates the dinghy in a couple of minutes, really fast and because it's cordless, no wires to get in the way.

A single charge lasted 2 years, and just plug into the cigar lighter 12v socket when needed (also comes with mains to 12v adaptor but never used it yet).

Dinghy just needs about 3 pumps with the foot pump to top up to the right pressure afterwards.

Think it is now branded Rule ID20 - still on the website
