looking for a small infalable or rib for kids and me to have a bit of fun in. can't decide whether to go for rib or air floor. It will be kept on davits on 22ft boat have narrowed down to a Valiant Dynamic 250 or 270 rib or a quicksilver 240/270 air deck anyone help me decide?

Sorry I know the weights - I am suggesting that they may be a little high for a 22ft boat - without knowing how long the b/platform is it's difficult to know.
I have a 265 (34kg) on a 25ft / 2800kg craft but it likes being tail heavy!
btw this has just appeared - and might suit you spot on

Something doesn't sound right there, how can a Rib be the same weight as an airdeck? If it is right then the Rib must have much lighter tubes or a very thin floor etc. It's your call.

I'm still surprised at those weights.

these are teh new rib 'lites' - given the weight of the air deck / inflatable keel / outer skin I am not surprised that they have managed to produce a lightweight hard v bottom at about the same weight.
Interestingly Wetline have also produced an inflatable v hull - the whole skin/keel/floor is one big honeycomb like the current airdeck - aim to give a more rigid hull form I think but still trying to get more info.

Sorry I don't understand. Living in Belfast shouldn't affect your options and availability. Anything you see elsewhere even in Europe is no problem the dealer will be more than happy to ship it.

Just bought a Valiant Dynamic 270 - very good quality and we are delighted with it. Nearly bought the 250 on the basis of size on the davits - glad we went for the 270 as we would undoubtedly have been looking to get the bigger one within a year - it is OK for four whereas the 250 is a bit of a squeeze.

Looked at all options (airdeck etc) but concluded RIB is best. Weight diference is negligible (I was surprised).

If you can get it on the davits get the 270 RIB - it's the best option IMHO.

thanks

i think i am going for the 250 done all the measurements etc and i think 270 might just be too much. what engine do you use and whats performance like?

Got an electric outboard so very slow, but good for the kids. Intend getting a petrol motor soon - have been advised that max on literature i.e. 6-7hp can be exceeded but 6 hp should get it moving with one or two in it.
