The boatyard my boat is laid-up at during the winter builds gaffers in GRP. Heard Gaffers & Luggers. They bond wood to GRP with epoxy and fibreglass matting. They altered the interior of my previous boat, and bonded the wood to GRP in this way.

They made a set of steps for the previous boat, and made them with a curve out of laminations. They used epoxy to bond the laminations together, then put it in a jig on the bench to cure.

None of their boats or work has ever come "unstuck".

Philip

Check out the West Epoxy site ..... and Gudgeon Brothers .... they have it all sewn up and can advise the best. I cannot advise the www address, but any old PBO will have their advert .......

I've had good luck using polyurethane putty (sicaflex or cheap imitation if you can find it). Also construction adhesive (which comes in tubes like sicaflex)--the kind for hanging mirrors is especially strong. For small jobs and quick drying time a hot glue gun is also very good--that's a tip a got on this board a few weeks ago.

Hi
Ive used a product called Fast grab for interior work, it also fills gaps as it sets(about 5mins)
