I am planning to sail from the Balearics to Corfu some 1000nm. Can anyone please advise me on which are the best charts to use for the trip i.e. Admiralty or Imray etc. Plus the pros and cons or each would also be extremely helpful.

Thanks
Paul

You could have a look at all the online chart catalogues for the diifferent types of chart available.

The best source for this information is on the free cruising website :-

www.onpassage.com

Go into the charts section once you enter the above site and you will see a chart catalogue section. These online catalogues also show you pictures of charts etc.

Whilst you are in www.onpassage.com have a look at all the other information available to cruising yachts, it has a huge amount of information, mostly accessed via the FULL INDEX.

Have fun, and good sailing.

Wouldn't trust Imray, after finding glaring/dangersous error in Northern Spain, caused by human error and not picked up before printing. New 2002 chart lighthouse on right headland of entrance, actual lighthouse on left headland!
But thats a personal view after coming close to a horrible lump of rock!
They are all as good as each other, Imray copy admiralty data I believe and they do get the copying wrong...sometimes
