I’m going to buy an Android tablet to run Navionics, to use in the cockpit of my dayboat/ weekender. I am a fair weather, short distance sailor but it is likely the tablet will get wet sometimes. There is no spray hood. I’m assuming that the Doogees and the like are not very waterproof, so some sort of case would be good. Anyone got any idea of what’s good to use? The big name brands get dedicated cases but I wonder if there is something more generically useful?

I just bought one of these, no case needed... And long battery life...takes a sim so you can use it to call your phone when you misplace that...has a HDMI output so you can even put navionics on a TV screen...and has fantastic lights..
Ulefone Armor Pad 3 Pro Rugged Tablet 33280mAh Amazon.co.uk

It is heavy though...

Clingfilm is the answer ...

I regularly clingfiim pocket / spy cameras for carriage on models ... some have been submerged when waterplanes flip over ... no problem. Buttons / touch screens all work ...

My tablet I use on the boat .. is 8" and has a folding case ... but when in use on the boat - is out of the case and has nothing on it ... its survived all sorts ... but when the shite is coming over into cockpit - it slips into my pocket ...
