Just use an old, holed Enterprise welded to an RSJ and dive down to check on it if you get too worried. I normally sleep on a spike so I'll defo wake up if there's any probs.

Picked up an old Admiralty pattern off a scrapped battleship some years ago...well not exactly picked it up, if you see what I mean, Has never dragged.....
