Fascinating picture. You must be older than I thought.
I must admit I have no idea. Maybe somewhere around Parkstone, taken from the air?
 
Too hilly for Harwich I would think, the shape of the land does look a bit like Shotley, but don't think there has ever been railway there.

PVB and Bru got it right......it is indeed Mistley where they say. Picture taken c.1922 and viewable with lots of others on the Aerofilms website. It was one of their mystery unidentified locations which I was able to help them out with. There are lots of other pics that they want help identifying across the country.
Alas I can't find the web link at the mo.

For the record...... I did survey some of the Mistley Rail Incline in the mid 80s when it was still in use (1980s that is Roger/Jim :) )
