Re: Where\'s Massive\'s post

I'm flattered that you consider me capable of writing in such a superbe and witty fashion but alack and alas No, not me guv! Feel sorry for whoever complained, obviously had their sense of humour surgically removed.

I thought it was James Joyce reincarnated and preparing chapters for a boaty version of "Ulysses" until I realised it had too many full stops in it.

Ok, who said something nasty?

Mmmm - what's that all about then? Someone writes a witty tale, others respond with good humoured replies then it gets canned. What forum law did it break.

charge sheet against Massive Pi

1. Not using paragraphs

2. Obvious lying about free mooring for 5 years

3. Overuse of the word "awesome"

4. Droning on about scotland, which if you are there apparently is strictly forbidden cos it is so ace OR if you are solenty or med is obviously just boring.

5. The dead cormorant/seagull gag. Well, ok, that was fairly funny

All in all pretty serious. So serious that erm ...why isn't everyone else banned? Kim?

Re: charge sheet against Massive Pi

I think it might have gone as it encouraged swimming as an alternative to the tender. I wish more people would realise the benefits of swim towing boats to the moorings. Powerboats especially with their tiddly rudders have much better steerage under swim power.

You can also put a swimmer over the stern, this gives full control to manoeuvring.

I am going to try it at the weekend, I would not have considered this dangerous practise before, but like kids I am compelled to do anything I see in the media.

Re: Where\'s Massive\'s post

I hope that this post doesn't lead to me being banned as well (massive is no longer allowed to post).

The decision to ban him may be in some way be linked to his last post, which, if I can describe it at all without making the same mistake, implied humorously that the yacht Mirabelle V may have self-harmed, preferring to be wooden gaff cutter rather than (what was implied to be) a large white trophy boat. It was, I believe, a satirical remark. But, even so, even if that was offensive, it is hard to see why, firstly, the original story needed to be deleted, and, secondly, why instead of being banned he wasn't merely warned in an informative way that his approach to humour was offending someone.

It's disappointing that they have acted in such an authoritative manner and without warning. Still, perhaps for a satirist being banned is a kind of accolade.

Re: Swim towing

Yes I quite agree about swim power.. what a good use for the crew.. this will also ensure that all crew are competent swimmers.. maybe this element should be included in the competent crew ticket?

Doh!!

Wow! I'm thicker than I thought as I didn't get the "implied" "self harm" bit. Deffinitely want to read it again to see what else I missed.

tcm, can you email your original copy please. Thanks..../forums/images/icons/wink.gif
