Where\'s everyone been?

It would seem that PaulineB's been bumming around Brighton, Haydn's been trying to play with Flipper when not upsetting the raggies on Scuttlebut, JFM is probably still cutting his lawn, TCM's been racing in France, Colic's still waiting for rain to fill his ditch to float his boat, Boatone's been getting warm under the collar, Tomo's still looking for his pussy and Byron, well who knows what he's up to. Oh and Sandra's finally bought a boat with a funny name.

So what's been going on, someone must have been out enjoying themselves. Come on tell us all about it, praps it will cheer us all up and help forget this awful weather.

Re: Where\'s everyone been?

Well doing our best of course. Sunk the bog. But then came across flapper the dolphin. and the preservative lot. Met up with ToMo and the boys! Long John aparently incomunicado. According to the natives. Totaly pissed off raggies by calling them wan*ing toppers or words to the same effect. So whats fresh. Nothing happening this end! But we still got to Falmouth inbetween the foulmouth. So not to bad really. Thinking of welding some props together out of an old trailer we've hacked to bits. Now what do all those sizes meen???

No one can force me to come here-----------

Re: oh yes yes YES

Much better than sitting there talking about the weather .
I've had great fun rebuilding the reduction gear on the tugs Parson , I even had to make a ten ton press to put it back
together . That was a job I'd been meaning to do for years , and much better than paying hundreds for one .

Re: Rainy fun ?

Been out on new boat when ever possible and sorting various minor bits n pieces, most of which were due to boat being laid up so long before I bought it.
Mainly dripping Jabsco pumps ,non functioning oil pressure senders, and a leg lifting motor that will only run in one direction(down).Nothing to stop boat moving and was out on Sunday in all that rain and wind.O the luxury of an enclosed wheel house.

Re: A bit further south than Oban

We were on the boat in france. We saw the argentina game in a bar in Antibes with an incredible ex-pat atmosphere. And buzzed around Villefranche and Nice, and then down to Port Grimaud and got soundly thrashed in an impromptu race with some very much larger powerboats, all helmed by ex-yotties. Good fun.

Hello LJS:
We woz in Greece, dinghy sailing in fact! Can confirm earlier reports of dodgy plumbing, but otherwise nice. While we were away, some miserable git nicked all the fenders off the boat in Lymington - wot sort of f-wit would do that?

On the road with the Tartan Argies Army

oh dear. But perhaps they were from another team? Svenhousemuir? Queen of the South Koreans?

ahem anyway. I have been given a boatwarming present. It is a bottle of "Knockandoo" whisky (or whiskey). Is this very decent gear to be hidden away? Or is it the usual thinners with hint of mahogany-tinted varnish?

Taster required

Anything in a bottle you're not sure about send to me for pre drink testing, I'll then be delighted to report back on quality after suitable recovery period!

Knockaboo does sound a bit dodgy! Don't risk it!!
