Where to sell a RIB and Outboard and what price is reasonable?

Engine alone must be worth £850 on a bad day, possibly closer to £1000. Last of the 2 strokes and fairly rare. Very desirable. If she has a remotes and steering, 100% worth min £1500, in my opinion. Try finding a late 2 stroke model (in good nick) 6 or 8hp even, for less than £700, never mind a 9.9. Nearly half the weight of the newer 4 strokes.

Well this is certainly a novel way to get round the £400 limit, from the man who makes a point at every opportunity of telling all exactly what every boat on the planet is worth whether they are buying or selling.

Well if Hurricane's old rib finds a new home in the 'forum family' and Jez gets a good price then I'm not bothered if some people assume that Jez was making a veiled ad.

I'm good at boat prices - I honestly am all at sea on this.
I have the answers I was looking for, if YBW admin would like to remove this thread that's fine with me

Actually, when we spoke last week, Jez was concerned about this thread.
He genuinely didn't know the value of the RIB/Engine and that is what this thread is about.

Damn and blast
Without this thread I could have offered £50 and a bag of magic beans and been in with a shout.

Maybe I am looking at the wrong engine, but when I looked this up last week, 2+4 stroke were almost the same weight at around 36kg so I wondered why someone would pay up for the 2 stroke?

The lightweight 10hp 4 strokes are small displacement and I think share a block with lower hp variants. The Yam 10 hp 2 stroke shares a block with the 15, as well as being a 2 stroke, so it will be a much pokier engine. I'd pay more to have the 2 stroke.
