Where should I park (Solent or Bristol Channel)

Re: Hamble tender parking

rather than pay £500 to store a tender I would get a roof box for the car and an electric pump to inflate it.

Re: Hamble tender parking

OK, but you're still left with the question of where to leave your car safely for - maybe - several days or weeks at a time. BTW, mine is an easily rowable heavy, rigid tender, so I wouldn't need the electric pump, but I might need a hoist to get it on the car roof!

Hamble river taxi is good but is only 0900 -1800 except July and August when it runs later. About £5 per head in each direction (exact cost depends on 'zones' on the river).

No simple answer then , i have seen a roofrack for a Laser dinghy which extended telescopically out the side then angled down to the ground allowing one person to get it on and off a car.

Of course not everyone can store it at home and the extra petrol consumption could eat into the potential cost savings.
