Where is this CIC fleet going?

Hint if you read a 2006 MBM issue you'll know /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It looks like the Irish Broom owners convention or at least aft cabin cruiser convention probably somewhere like Dingle

Dingle it is! What you can't see is Fungi the dolphin who was playing with one of the outer boats. It was the 2005 coastal Cruise in company of the IWAI Lough Derg branch (www.iwai.ie). Broom Owners Club /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif WHAT - No way, we are all far to young to be BOC members. Anyway we had Princesses, Birchwoods and all manner of aft cabin boats. We are trying very hard to keep the Shannon a BOC free zone. I am the commodore of ABOC - the Anti-BOC /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The mobo's had cruise out from Lough Derg (40km long x 20km) around the SW coast via Killaloe, Limerick, Kilrush, Fenit and Dingle.

A little tip. If you post a photo for identification, dont name it by the place it is 'coz you can just right click on the photo and open Properties to id it
Thats how we all got it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Subject: Re: What has the BOC done to upset you?

Greetings. The Broom Owners Club does not have a commodore as we are more of a class association than a club but I am its chairman so I thought I would say hello!
Glad you added smileys to your comments and we take them in good heart but I just wanted to say that we were never set up to compete with local yacht clubs but just to promote ownership, understanding and use of the boats.
Our benefits include a web site and forum which helps owners use, improve, maintain and find spares for their boats and most of our members are actively involved in their local clubs without conflict. The fees are €35 per year which includes a mailing four times a year of the BOC newsletter "Sweepings" .
Come and see us on www.broomowners.com. We have links for Broom owners cruising logs

With Kindest Regards

David Broad

By the way on the age issue, our club Hon Sec is 35 :-) and she has organised a 60's rock band entertaining us at our AGM and BOC weekend near the Broom factory in November. Too young indeed! Enjoy your boating and take care.
