Hmmm. I don't recall anchoring there although it does have its benefits in that the anchor would have to drag an awfully long way before I'd be on the rocks! Certainly has some merit!

In fact we were anchored around the corner in Pilots Cove. Really was a beautiful morning.

Yes, funny bunch the mobo'ers. We maintained a healthy distance of course.

In fact I recall there were 2 mobo's rafted up for the night (second one must be directly behind the first). Which is worthy of comment as my experience is that very few seem to spend a night at anchor. They were running their engines for a while that morning (running the ice maker I assume) but it was pretty quiet. I think we even exchanged pleasantries - briefly!

What a bigoted commment. Many mobo's lie at anchor at night, and not all have ice makers or lots of equipment. Mine certainly doesn't

Simply recounting my experience which is that in general the motorboats I see anchored up often shoot off before nightfall. A generalisation I admit and to be honest there are a number of sailing boats I know that do the same although they obviously depart rather earlier! If you read anything derogatory into that then it wasn't meant that way. I've always felt that they return to base because they can in a reasonable time.

Maybe it's more prevalent in your part of the world, but there are many areas where small and large mobo's are at anchor overnight. I appreciate mischievous posts as much as any! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif but I'm concerned about the us and them attitudes which colour these forums at times. We are all seafarers, and have broadly similar aims.
