along side today guess reloading un-commisioned crane week happens early this comming week.
crane damaged about a year ago when a container ship was leaving the dock hip the crane with its funnel, the crane was dis-placed from the rail track it sits on, causing damage to the wheels / boggies
not really, I was actually delivering containers that day and the whole place was at a standstill, (actually not that unusual in Felixstowe). After sitting in one of the holding areas, for about 5-6 hours, one of the checkers told us that there was a serious problem on the quayside with one of the cranes and the place was shut down for safety. Probably a couple of hundred trucks at a standstill in there. Felixstow Terminal is definitely NOT one of the best places to be stuck as a trucker.
ooh, not sure on that one. I was actually helping a friend out whose business was struggling(now unfortunately gone under). I have since left the UK so not quite sure what is happening down there.
Its Felixstowe, and the ship has come in to take away the northernmost crane, which one of my colleagues bumped into with a big ship. The crane has been sold (just don't walk under the boom)
The crane was actually loaded this morning, Mon.30th.
