Where is everyone

It not even the end of Sept yet and we have not seen another British yacht for over a month , as we sailed from the southern France to Italy to Ebla and now in Sardinia Oblia there not been a British yacht to be seen any where .
As the season finish already ? Or is everyone tucked up in Greece .

We saw very few in Sardinia or Sicily, not till we got to Syracuse did we see any number. Now theres more Poms, Septics, Kiwis, Wallabies and Canadians (what is the collective diminutive?) than you can shake a stick at :)

Yea they all waiting for the first to head for Ragusa or Licata , Syracuse last stop before the Velcro come out for the winter .

We are in Sicily as well. Spent the last few weeks sailing around the North coast and are now on the East coast. We have seen a few brits along the way.( Anchored next to one last night but it was too late to steal a beer) A lot are waiting until 1st October when prices go down.
 
Plenty of German and Dutch boats around. All the Brits we have met so far have been en-route for their laying-up locations. Here in Poros, there are seven brits (including Seven Tenths) a Russian, two Germans and a Dutch boat.

There are still plenty in the Algarve.
 
There were several Brits in Syracuse in June. However after those in Ragusa, we only met TonyMs in Cagliari on all our way to Cartagena, where several Brits are wintering. Of course I exclude charter boats w Brit crews, but then for those w limited time, this may be cost effective and more sensible!!
 
Hi Vic, lots of Brits here in Greece (nidri, Vliho, Levkas) but there is a real autumn nip in the air at night and the talk is about heading to overwintering berths.

What is the latest situation with the public quay at Olbia, is it still available and free.?

Hi guys long time no see .
The Quay is finish , there signs up now saying it permitted to moor but you have to re port to the coast guard for security reasons .

There was a few yachts there mainly Germans and not body had bothered so we didn't .

Are you back off to Italy for the winter ? .

We decided on Licata but we going to drop in first before booking up .

Much the same here in Rabat, Morocco - one Brit boat was here heading north to the Med, one Brit flagged boat with new French owners heading south and us - plenty of French and USA boats plus a German and an Italian. Thought there might be more Brits seeing as there are so many rallies heading off from the Canaries next month.
