It\'s hard to beat Tilbury

You are in easy reach of such undiscovered gems as:
Thurrock,
Rainham Marshes,
Barking Creek and
That jewel of the Thames, Canvey Island.

If you came back to England you might well be bored.

If you kept your boat on the W. Coast of Scotland, however, you would definitely not get bored - although hypothermia is always on the cards, of course.

What\'s wrong with Deptford Creek then ?

Furrock ain't got it all you know !

Believe it or not, Deptford Creek now supports one of the rarest birds in the UK since it became a 'brownfield'. The place is just crawling with wildlife.

Even more amazing is that dumped shopping trolleys improve fish stocks as they can shelter in them. They cleared them out and found that fish life suffered. Put posher stuff back and they returned.

It's a mad mad mad world !

Re: So . . .

Scotland - not (entirely) joking. The weather might not appeal *but* in midsummer you have the amazing long nights and slow sunsets, and if it does rain I understand there are one or two decent beverages to enjoy. [Everything in moderation, of course.] Northern lights if you're really lucky, although I've never seen them. Cheap flights to Glasgow these days too.

Why...

...would you even want to think about changing your cruising ground Bob?? If I had the opportunity to move our cruising grounds from the East Coast to the Aegean/Ionian I would be off like a shot! Still maybe in a few years time!!

My recommendation, for what it's worth...stay where you are!!

Endy
