Where are you now?

Sitting at home in Alvertstoke. Just watched a documentary on the iPlayer about "Containers" (as in "Container Ships"). What a thrilling evening!!
Oh, I forgot to mention, I polished off the remainder of the red wine, and started a bottle of white. hic!

Well it has to be said, since Thursday of last week we've been on the boat, bank holiday weekend on Folly reach watched James's Seabird fly by, guessed you were on your way to Island, or Newport, you wouldn't have seen us as we were shore side of the pontoon with this small ship

on the outside making us invisible to any passing boats. Saturday night dinner at the Folly great service as ever, saw the finish of the race, back over to mooring Monday afternoon ate on board.

This week the weather has been improving day on day,Wednesday was blissful as was today sunshine and a sea breeze, Tomorrow moving across to my new berth, Saturday a trip up the Beaulieu is planned for lunch at the Mont and on the ebb a touch of worm drowning planned off of Seagull island.

I think retirement is the best thing since sliced bread, keep paying your taxes boys and girls,

best regards.:D

of course I saw you, I'm surprised you didn't notice me craning my neck round as we past just to check the name on the transom! Once I'd seen it was Sea Tryst it was then too late to wave... hey ho, Please take this as a belated wave hello! Indeed off to Island Harbour, rushing to catch free flow... what a lazy sod I am.. Had a great 6 days, just returned this pm..perhaps a report tomorrow if I have time...:D

East Cowes K pontoon, berth 4... Just me and Caley... great day in Newton Creek, went for a swim until someone sprayed me with fairy liquid and tried to push me out to sea ;)

Sitting at home impatiently waiting for our new boat to be delivered! We handed the old one in last week in part exchange, but we don't get the new one till mid-October - we will be getting serious cabin fever before then!

Back home now after a week on the delsol, must admit a week sat by the pool with mby and mbm soon passes the time nicley, then to arrive home to be greeted by the latest mby is just great!, missing my boat tho, roll on Wednesday!!

We were there yesterday as well - went over for lunch; it was beautiful. Anchored for a couple of hours or so and then left when (pure coincidence, yer honour) the NT boat headed in our direction to ask for a "donation" :)

The Hamble; a different perspective...

Nipped across to the otherside of the river and watched the sun setting over The Hamble from Warsash...Wow! Stunning! I could've walked along that river bank and never stopped. Just absolutely breathtaking, serene views. The pics from my phone don't do it justice at all but thought I'd post them anyway.

I was at Campoamor Marina, head in the engine bay, bum in the air when there was a loud bang, and a flash

Then I was getting wet, not just a little bit wet, but very very wet - it's not rained for about 3 months so it caught me a bit by surprise, by the time I'd got the covers on I was soaked to the skin and there'll be 10 gallons in the bilge to pump out tomorrow.

And that was when I realised the Sunbrella cover was as waterproof as a collander, hence the request for info on the thread over there -->

Deep joy :(

Would love to but Im not sure I fancy going out in this!

West or southwest 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8.
Sea State
Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough at first in west.
Weather
Squally showers, then rain.
Visibility
Good, becoming moderate or poor.

Might pop down on the bus/train whatever there is!

On town jetty in Dartmouth, sun desperately trying to get out, pint of Bulmers (other ciders available) fish and chips 80 yards away:)

Going on to a buoy tmro and thinking of buying a genny...what sort do I need just to charge the batteries a little and can I get one in town?

Reward for answer is cider:)

I noticed the other day when leaving the marina about 30 or 40% of the mobos have those little (phonebook book size) solar panel wotsits fitted, I gather they keep your batteries topped up quite well.

Also noticed that the sail boat mob seem to favour the little windmill gennys and you never see them on mobos :)
