Had my first proper outing over the the weekend and I noticed all down the Hamble River all the marinas seemed to be 60/70% full iso of the usual +/-100%?

Has everyone followed JTB and had enough of UK boating?

I said before on here I have noticed lots of boats moving away but I am amazed now at the size of the shift

Our marina is full to bursting - but 90% of the boats are sailing - perhaps the rising fuel costs are biting?

My Marina looks pretty empty if you look at the pontoons, but look at the hard standing and it is full to bursting. Could be that all the boats are simply being hauled out to be readied for the start of the season.

weekend

Yarmouth three deep this Saturday. Newtown not very busy on Sunday...amazing place to spend a sunny afternoon!

Alot dont go back in til Easter, I think, but there are alot of missing powerboats...

Almost ready to launch, but not quite.

Just need to shoot VolvoPaul's customers in the Q ahead of me, Fibreglass Man has a couple of small jobs, and we're in business.

This year, there are about the same number of mobos as 2011 at Sparkes. Well down on the peak years, but stable, and hanging in there. Sailyboats make up some of the numbers, but still nowhere hear 100% occupancy. Maybe 75%.

Sat with the diary now David,

Where are all the boats

Hard standing at Lymington !!
Not us though, we were in Newport IOW, Had the place to ourselves. The showers don't open to the public until 1st April, so HM only charged £5 overnight.
Sailed back to Lymington Sunday afternoon 25/03/2012, nothing for 1/2 a mile radius.

Best time of the year to be sailing IMO
