Well done both of you.
Port d'Aro
We had to pull in here yesterday due to strong winds from the north.
The only space they had was right at the end of the creek.

Asm's very subtle clue didn't really give it away - clever.

Port d'Aro is a bit like a small Cala D'Or but without restaurants and a very different location.
A winding creek with moorings and apartments each side.

My clue to Jez
Sant Carles Marina is half owned by MDL - the other half is owned by a Spanish consortium which owns three other marinas up the coast.
These marinas are Port Olympic, Ginesta and this one Port d'Aro

Hi Mike
Hope the winds calm down, keep the pics coming.
Careful with speed around the Medas Is. There is a speed limit inside the 4 yellow buoys (don't ask me what it is but slow. Always fun to go between the two islands maybe moor up but use the red buoys not the others which are for divers.

Nice hour glass bay called Cala de Montgo just before L'Escala with a good restaurant. (not as good as La Clota in L'Escala though)

Have fun

David

Didn't know there was a speed limit inside those buoys.
But we were pootling anyway and there were lots of RIBs around going faster than us.

Loads of boats anchored.

Anyway, here we are here now - in the Coast Brava

Hurricane, it's a shame to have missed you there, I just left L'Estartit (by car) on Saturday.

The Illes Medes are a nature reserve and you need to drop speed and are not allowed to anchor.
Red buoys are for boats <9m, white for >9m, other buoys are for commercial trips and divers (green I believe)
Landing on the islands is not allowed, except for a few days at the end of september when most locals dress up as pirates. At that time there is a treasure hunt on the island.

The harbor is extended last winter an is now capable to hold larger vessels (there was a Feretti 83 there last week).
More extensions are planned over the next 2 winters.

I recommend taking a trip with Blue-Eyed to explore the coast. The standard trip is a 2 hour trip to 'Les tres Caves' in the direction of L'Escala.
The 19:00 trip is especially nice as the sun starts to set and this results in spectacular light effects on the rocks and islands.
Unlike other commercial trips offered in L'Estartit, the captain is a source of information on all things on offer along the coast.
The Blue-Eyed booth is eaily overlooked, it is located at the start of the cay where the big yellow cat's are moored.

Our family took the trip last year and this year we did a 4 hour private charter in the direction of Palamos (I will try to whip up a threat after I work trough my backlog).
The kids liked it so much that we planned an 8 hour trip, though that was canceled due to high winds, so we went on the 19:00 standard trip.

We took the dinghy into Empuriabrava this morning.
After your post, we decided to put the dinghy safely away - windy already but it is safely stowed.
