Re: ... When the livin\' is easy..........

I don't think that the original inhabitants were really interested in easy living in the Garvellachs, but it is a delightful atmospheric place with magnificent views for visitors with their own transport. (But don't tell too many people!!!)

Initial thought was behind Eilean Righ on Loch Craignish, but doesn't look quite right. Probably cos its not raining.
Or the Fairy Isles? No, it would be raining there as well.
The med?

Or it could be the Garvellachs.....;-)

How about this sort of easy living?

View from Eilach an Neave (sp?) to be precise with a beehive cell in the foreground. Terrible anchorage - prevailing winds howl through, thick weed, midgies, day tripper boats etc etc.

PS - Stingo, I hope she doesn't post here, calling her easy will not win many brownie points.

I do what I can ... but modesty forbids.

PS It's Edward Teach, otherwise known as Blackbeard, but of course you knew that Long John.

common mate say something you started it, I thought only rocks were called Sgeir this or that????

Re: ... When the livin\' is easy..........

No midges on you lot - it's the Garvellachs, rough islets, showing one of the early Christian beehive cells on Eilach an Naoimh (sounds like Neave).

Settlement allegedly founded by one of the St Brendans (not the Shufflebutt St Brendan AFAIK), and said to have the site of the grave of St Columba's mother Eithne.

It was taken on one of several good days in 2004.

Liked Nick's piccy, see also http://www.john.macpherson.btinternet.co.uk/garvellachs.html
