im sure this will have been covered sometime but looking for up to date info, of course when the lockdown is lifted ? 2021

Currently sail our Bavaria 34 out of Chichester, looking to move it to south Brittany. Any suggestions for location, can I prebook or simply turn up? , benefit of passport Escales? All advice welcome

Welcome to the forum. Do bear in mind that after the end of the Brexit transition period if you move your boat from the UK to an EU country you might well have to pay VAT on it, also that UK citizens will be subject to Schengen zone visa rules (90 days in 180). Just a couple of the many benefits of Brexit...

As the boat will have lost its EU VAT status, I'd read the RYA details that they posted. For France they said you'd need to arrive at a port of entry, then deal with immigration and customs.

Apologies for slight thread drift, but I've been wondering if there are many on here planning a move this year to maintain EU VAT status, travel restrictions permitting of course?

Which is a good reason to head to Portugal this year when lock down ends. VAT status retained and residence can be had within a week or so of arrival, allowing free movement within Schengen without 90 day limit.
