Found this in one of the "useful things" drawers on the new-to-me boat (Ovni).

I've puzzled over it for a year, and still haven't found what it's for.

Any ideas?20220604_171624.jpg20220604_171628.jpg20220604_171640.jpg

That is an elasticated cord, the sharp pointy end is pushed through a reinforced plastic sheet round a scaffold tube brought back through the sheeting and the cord pushed into the cord holder blunt end and pulled tight. Its so we can wrap scaffolds in plastic sheeting to weather tighten them, They are very handy things on boats.

Thank you, I'll keep it in the "useful" drawer then :)

Their usefulness on board is limited purely by your imagination, I used 2 linked together last weekend to make a strap for a young apple tree in the garden.

Sadly they normally come in bags of 50 if any one wants any have a chat with a team on a scaffold wagon if your going past you may strike lucky, If we ever do a Solent meet up again I will bung some in my pocket.
