Had a few too many last night and got to thinking this morning that I'm glad I'm not going out on the boat today. This in turn got me wondering how to cure the hangover if I was to go sailing the morning after? I'm sure some of you must have been there, done that and have some weird and wonderful remedies! When I was younger and in the navy it really wasn't a problem but now a days it seems to take for ever to get rid of a hangover. Oh before anyone starts dragging out there soap boxes and climbing the moral high ground, I already know it's best not to get drunk the night before.
So let's hear some of your remedies and experiences.

I have always found that drinking plenty of water before you go to bed is very effective ... provided that you can remember to do so. :D

80% of the nasty symptoms of a hangover are due to the dehydration induced by alcohol.

2 x Alka Seltzer and an 1000mg vitamin c tablet in the same pint of water.

How do i know this works..... guess what i had this morning!!

Seriously, there is no remedy for a hangover that actually works! Drinking plenty of water BEFORE the hangover works, because it is about dehydration mainly. But once you're hungover, all you can do is drink water (perhaps with a bit of salt) and (preferably) sleep it off.

Incidentally, the hair of the dog remedy is a pretty good way of risking alcoholism.

A friend of mine swears by crisps and full-fat coke. Basically salt, sugar and water...

I don't like crisps without a beer and I'm diabetic, so I go back to bed with a jug of water.

Rob.

2 iboprofen and a pint of water before bed (if you remember). Large glass of orange in the morn and 2 weetabix with loads of sugar.

Or anything with vitamin c and sugar. that's where the coke comes in, as long as it's not diet there are 6 teaspoons of sugar in each can
