What's the attraction of a flybridge?

Luddites!

But it's 2005. Just get 3rd station controls or wander lead controls, then you can drive a flybr boat from wherever /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

thing is Bluegrass out here in the Med your never short of peeps wanting to go out on account of the sunshine you see...........means I'm never short handed....plus if I was bringing her in isnt too difficult as long as the boats to port & stb are still there when you return.

Re: What\'s the attraction of a flybridge?

"command bridge" Yes I'd settle for one of those probably best of both worlds. The only down side is it's always a big jump to get off.

Re: What\'s the attraction of a flybridge?

I jumped off the bridge of this once, and only once. That was a long way down.

Yes there is that. We have fender steps which make life easier, and always lasoo cleats/bollards from on board whenever practicable so we don't have to get off when there's a bit of a gap. It is surprising how rarely you actually need to put someone ashore when mooring.

That flybridge looks safe doesn't it, in the photo gallery theres one shot that looks like the navigator has fallen off and the helmsman hasn't noticed !

That is truly orrible. Candidate for MBM's ugly boat contest me thinks.

Yes, but strangely alluring. Careful though, the song contains subliminal messages. Listen too many times and you will want one.

Re: What\'s the attraction of a flybridge?

Do you know what, I can't even remember where we were, but there were six of us who jumped and it took the skiddies clean off all of us!
Not a nice sight as we scrambled back on the lifeboat and then onto the ship. It all stemmed from drunken dares during a free bar night, absolutely deadly they were and lived to regret it several times more.
Previously did it at Falmouth when we were mothballed there but that one wasn't anywhere near the height.
Don't drink now thank god!
