Still I reckon there are more pubs and eating places around the Solent than the Thames (Although I guess the Spinnaker Arms has suffered with oGaryos departure.)

But the Thames through London is tidal which is the point of the debate I thought (and just try mooring up along the Thames in London!)

I thought the Solent had the Folly and that was itsorry I know thats not true but for shear variety and ease of access the Thames is unbeatable.
All the pubs and marina bars up the Hamble, Hythe, Cowes/Medina, Beaulieu, Lymington, Yarmouth etc......![]()
