What\'s going on with the weather?

This was issued today........(BBC web site)

The Mull of Galloway to Mull of Kintyre including Firth of Clyde and North Channel Wind - Variable mainly easterly, 3 or 4. Weather - Mainly slight. Visibility - Thundery showers, fog patches. Sea State - Moderate or good, occasionally very poor. 24 hour forecast: Wind - The Mull of Galloway to Mull of Kintyre including the Firth of Clyde and the North Channel Variable mainly southerly or southeasterly, 3 or 4. Weather - Mainly slight. Visibility - Showers, fog patches. Sea State - Moderate or poor, occasionally very poor.

Just curious, what type of weather is 'mainly slight'? or for that matter what type of sea state is 'Moderate or poor, occasionally very poor'?

Me too - although I've not seen much slight weather recently.

As you know they've changed the running order this year. After wind it used to be weather, visibilty, sea state and now it's sea state, weather, visibility.

Just a senior moment, I suspect.

I was on the bridge of a ship north of Scotland one dark night, I was listening to the CG weather forecast and they described the sea state as moderate to rough, becoming very rough. The Glaswegian AB who was on the bridge with me as lookout commented out of the darkness; Aye, that's how I like my wimmen! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
