Whats appened to Uncle Albert.

Uncle Albert was a regular participant here who would write very comical poems. In real life he looked more like Father Christmas than Father Christmas.

His real name was Sam Sanderson and he lived at Bedworth in Warks. I am blowed if I can remember the name of his boat.

'Roanne' is an Aquafibre 37 located on the sales pier at Bray Marina.

She has had quite some interest of late and before Christmas I had expected her to be moving to a new berth in Bruges, Belgium. However she has since gone under offer to a Thames based couple.

I spoke to Sam only yesterday but will contact him again on your behalf, conveying the Forums best wishes and perhaps he can be persauded to add some additional poetry now he has retired.

Broom 37

Thanks everyone for taking the trouble to post, spent a very entertaining afternoon up at Byrons a summer or two ago with Uncle Albert giving me a tour of his boat.
As with all Brooms loads of space inside with comfy spacious lounge ,was a bit like the Tardis inside.

Noooo!

No more poetry, please!! LOL
Nice to know he's OK though....

Being a Philistine myself (Philistines were Greeks I believe) I detest poetry almost as much as I detest classical music.

with a name like byron I would have thought you would be partial to a bit of poetry

so a bit of a poem :

there was a young fellow whos name was mick
who had poor fellow a corkscrew *****
His time was spent in a lifelong hunt
to find a girl with a spiral

His search was ended In far Glamorgan
Where he found a girl with such an organ
But on his wedding night he fell down dead
cause he found she had a left hand thread
