You're sailing along doing a nice 10Kts when suddenly there's a massive crash from below and you grind to a sudden complete standstill , water is pouring through a hole in your pride and joys bow and she's going down fast
DSC has been hit and confirmed with a quick mayday call picked up by a trawler who relays your position to the coastguard , and as you launch the liferaft you get confirmation that you'll be picked up within the next 24 hours
Grab bag is duly grabbed and as the boat is going down fast there's no time to step up into the liferaft /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif and all five of you jump into the water . The sea is pretty calm anyway but it's cold so you get out fast and all five of you are now safe in your liferaft , cursing the container that's floating just below the surface
So it's all gone well up to now ( apart from losing your boat ) but it's 19-00 hours and it's going to be dark soon . You're all cold and wet and looking at a 24 Hr in a small liferaft , a watch is posted and everyone tries to dry off as best they can but now comes the crunch
What would you do to occupy yourselves for a night and day , knowing that you'll be picked up in the end but you have a potentially very boring 24 hrs ahead of you
