There is always, without exception, a use for odd lengths or rope, core., cover, or both combined.

The quickest way to find the use is to throw it out and once it is irretreivably lost - the use of the rejected item will be very obvious.

More useful would be to know how much core and roughly what diameter you have - but a more useful comment - fender lines? painter for bucket?

Strangely I find I have more spare cover than spare core - and covers can be used for protection from abrasion.

I have some core keeping the cockpit cover attached to the boat.

Use some as anti chaffe over other ropes. Use some spliced over halyard etc to thicken it to reduce slippage in clutches But make sure that you splice it into the lay of the other rope first.

Not sure that is a good idea. Does not swell when damp. I would have expected caulking to do so. Or is that wrong?

I'm more used to dinghies where lots of rope is 'tapered' strip off the cover and keep the core where the rope is not handled.
Dyneema core is easy to splice.
