I'm looking at buying a river cruiser but what are the do's and dont's of a purchase, and where are the best places to moor in east yorkshire river humber/ouse area?
There have been lots of posts on things to look for on porevious threads if you try a search. However lots of them (and all my knowledge!) is about seagoing boats, and there may well be specialised things for rivers (eg air draught, beam) that are less of a priority on a yacht.
But generally the principles of work out what you want to do, how much you're prepared to pay (including any work on it) and how much boat you are able/willing to handle still apply.
I live on a boat In Goole E. Yorks. The Type of boat depends on where you want to cruise. We live on a Broom Ocean 42, but there are many deferent types, from ex broads hire boats to narrow boats. If you want to cruise the humber then a sea going boat is the way to go.
Marina's arounf the area are pretty full, you could try the two marina's in Goole, one sells boats aswell. Make sure you get a berth before you buy!
