I've hoovered and cleaned the inside of the boat but thee are jobs to do outside. I've updated the phone contacts, made a cake, read the harbour guide and planned a trip across the channel. The dog didn't like the short walk with an umbrella so what do you lot do, I've finished the library books.

Sort the screws by type and size, stack washers by size, arrange nuts and bolts. Basically container rearranging and tidying.

Where are you, lots of forumites will be coming down to their boats this w/e?

Rain or shine....just be thankful that you are on the boat:encouragement: ...I am in the office :( and its raining outside:ambivalence:

We work - we're developing a new IT system and spend most of our time on the boat designing, implementing and testing code.

Get out your almanacs and do your passage planning for a little trip to Join me in Turkey. I am sitting on the boat on the hard all nicely cleaned and anti fouled ( the boat, not me) waiting for relaunch tomorrow morning. The sun is shining out of a cloudless sky again , and the temperature is a perfect 25 degrees.
And one of my pals a has just asked me to go and split a beer or two, so I will have to put off the GDPR work that is otherwise urgent!
Cheers

Sounds perfect  Very envious :encouragement:

Plan that move to Australia.

Its actually raining today - but its the first rain we have had for a couple of months - so it is most welcome.

Having come from the UK there were some things one did when its raining as days of sunshine are few and far between. Here its the other way round - tasks that are indoors you put off as it is a waste not to take advantage of the good weather and 'indoor' tasks simply accumulate. Its only when it rains you realise there are some tasks you must do - even, or especially, in the rain, like scrubbing decks.

What to do while sitting inside because it's raining...

Maybe think about next time buying a boat you can helm from inside? :)

Even in a wetsuit, I don't like dinghy-sailing in miserable weather.

If I spent 100 times as much on another boat without gaining an option to steer out of the rain, I'd kick myself.

A few years ago we were in company with a Nauticat while traversing Friesland. I was late May and the near-freezing rain was horizontal. We kept on arriving at stops shivering in our ocean gear, only to see them step out to tie up in summer clothing. I'm still not old enough to make the change, though.

My solution to this weather is usually to bury myself in a book of crosswords or killers, or if I am feeling sociable, Scrabble.

Have a good cover over the cockpit.

This is mainly to keep the sun off but is also effective at keeping the rain of you but we don't get much rain it the sun that the problem.

Sit in the cockpit under the cockpit tent and clean the insides of the windows with spray polish. Repair and Seemco the cockpit table and fix any wobbles. Ropework around the wheel. Polish the chrome on the wheels and inside rails . Strip down the heads pumps .
