What the Navy did! ..... 'Dit-On' .....

Piccy of us in Bray Harbour on MarineTraffic.

I've had a look but can't find it ... can you send us / post the link?

There was also another 'Old-Deeps' (of one of the FB groups) at that very same event & apparently Herman was also in attendance .... ;)

Not sure if this will work but try this http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shipdetails.aspx?mmsi=235065771&header=true

You gonna tell us another dit ? or perhaps a one dit wonder :D

Howz about the one about the O boat going alongside up an Italian river when the dockyard mateys sat & watched ?

Good few hundred attended but no official RN attendance.

HMS/M Valiant, just after the Falklands War.

Casing getting a bit dodgy after loss of non skid paint. Ever resourseful 'scratcher' (casing Party Petty Officer) blags some from a convenient Aircraft Carrier. Green.

On return to Plymouth signal from Captain Second Submarine Flotilla, 'Get Your Grass Cut'.

French Foreign Legion dit, from my oppo Mark, after an O Boat visit to La Rochelle. Picture a tall slim bloke in a kilt sat next to a Legionaire whos party trick was to remove his glass eye and open beer bottles in the socket. Don't try this at home, it hurts.

Those were the days.....

That wouldn't be Mark from the infamous janner Nash clan would it ?

And it sure did!

Nice boat!

ODW!? .... don't think so! ;) ..... but I can't! .... as I don't know what's in the 'Public Domain' ..... what's the 'Statute of Limitations' regarding many a potential offence ...... and what's that 'rule' .... if unsure say-nowt!

But I've just had another read of Ali's St Helena 'Dit' & it's-a good-un! :D ...... anyone know of Speaky Lowe? ;)

Freds Adrift!

The 'Flunky' was saying it’s ‘Babies-Heads’ or ‘****-on-a-Raft’ for scran today, but he’s only been-in a ‘Dog-Watch’ so what would he know?

Anyway 'Shippers' ... I'm off to me pit/rack/farter cos I've got a 'Make & Mend'.

You can give ye-old 'Sea-Dad' a shake for 'Mismusters' before Tug's birthday 'Run'. ;) :p

That's because a Nuccy Poo's atmosphere smells a bit like venting 'slop drain and sewage' back inboard. If you have bee dived in a diesel boat fresh air smells like fresh air.
..... not always! ;)

Venting the Slop-Drain & Sewage was only a last resort if the mutrator was U/S.
Blowing & venting that thing was not recommended!
And the reason your surface crawling , shallow sound channel, semisubmersible Weasels air drawn through the Fin was still fresh-ish was because you didn’t dive deep and long enough to have a build-up of 'beasties' & slime ..... eeeek!
Apart from the occasional ‘special-fit’ 15 & ½ week-ers.
But you definitely had the good Crews, the characters and the best Runs.

We also didn't have Beckman analysers, to keep our air pure and clean.;)

I know what atmospheric analysers are, and what mass spectrometry is, but I've been on Patrols where almost all systems were down & the Doc & his team had to carry-out continuous readings then make manual adjustments ..... either end of the breathable (only just) range was not good .... & we didn't have the luxury of returning to PD for a 'Snort' ...... 'Bad-Box'!

Plus someone (I reckon it was Bath) purchased 'the-kit' (which was fitted) but no warranty, spares, support or training ..... yet another 'Chocolate Fireguard' ..... :(
