What the most effective product

Cilit Bang Black Mould Remover is amazing on non-slip. Also works great on light coloured non slip deck paint

Thanks guys, do you buy traffic film remover in Halfords
I’ve seen it in Mole Valley Farmers, about £30 for 20 litres. I bought about 10l 15+ years ago, still using it! Just make sure you dilute it, it’s strong stuff. And goes much further.
No idea if Halfords stock it, I’d suggest looking on the internet.

Honestly, try Cilit Bang Black Mould Remover. It’s only a few quid in the supermarket. I had a boat with textured non slip decks and they were covered in black blotches. It looked really bad and I tried everything to get it off including Y10 and a number of strong solvents.
someone on YBW suggested Cilit Bang Black Mould Remover so I tried it. I wet the decks, sprayed it on and agitated it with a brush, left it for a few minutes and it came up spotless. I couldn’t believe it.
My dads steel boat has white deck paint on the front coachroof and it goes blotchy every year so he repaints it. I tried it on the non slip paint and it brought it up really clean.

Good to know, thanks. I forgot to mention that washing machine detergent also works well, diluted of course.
Agreed, i use that to clean my teak decks. I prefer to put it on in the evening when theres a good chance drizzle or rain, and then clean it off in the morning. Costs pennies and does a good job of cleaning the teak.

Buy a tiny bottle of something expensive with a picture of fast whizzy boat on the label or...........
Brintons Patio Magic. from your local DIY at around £10.00 for 2.5L
Dilute as instrutions in bucket (or not ) depending on how agressive you feel regards the spots.
Apply with broom and leave to soak and to dry and get on with something else.
You can wash if off after few days or just leave for rain to do the job for you.
It does pool in the little dimples in the glassfibre where the spots tend to live.
Left for week all spots gone and side decks and coach roof left looking white and shiney.
Loads left over to do the boat again in the future.
Simples, but possibly not ecolocically sound apparently.

I applied similar to Patio Magic over the boat side decks , canvas and bathing platform on Sunday - the Aldi (Doff)version of patio cleaner which comes in concentrate and ready mixed versions - use the concentrate for best value . A dry day with little wind is required.
These products work on canvas and wood, patios , roof tiles, conservatory roof and garden sheds
I use a garden sprayer.

I would expect some residue of dead algae /moss after a week or so and possible need for repeat treatment if some areas have been missed or if there has been a lot of rain to dilute the effect before the algae has been killed . Black bits in non slip may be atmospheric pollution so the degreaser may be required .

Not washing the patio cleaner treated surface at all provides longer term protection against green algae development.
I last did the conservatory roof last spring and no new green has developed over winter.

Pressure washer with rotating nozzle does it for me when all available magic fluids fail.

No matter the brand of washer, a nozzle that spins is less hard on the surface whille covering more area and getting the job done.

Pressure washer found to be the easiest for me also. I have a very old halfords one which is not very powerfull which does the job fast and easy.

Be aware that some spinning nozzles can produce 3000 psi and can do great damage, especially to any wooden boat parts nearby, 3000 psi can cut wood like a knife.

Per 100g product: 2.6g sodium hypochlorite. Contains <5% Non-Ionic surfactants, chloride-based bleaching agents, Disinfectant, Perfume.

Every year my decks get the same black spotty covering on the non slip. I just wonder if Cilit Bang sounds a good idea. The reason why I mention that is the ingredients above. It contains bleaching agents so is it not just bleaching the black spots so as to make the non slip look clean but actually masking the dirt so it's really still there. Like you guys I am also looking at something that will clean my decks more easily but haven't found anything that works other than a cream cleanser, soft brush and elbow grease.

Can someone please explain how a passive nozzle, spinning by the water flow from an average engine that produces ~100 bar (1450 psi) without any added energy can more than double the pressure?
