Andy, nice try but the boat you show does not appear to have a stainless plate to protect the hull from the anchor swinging around.

Not a moboer so havnt a clue but guess not too long as it appears to have an eye attatcment point halfway up the bow...I guess for attatching winch wire onto trailer??

It's not a very big boat - i think a carmargue 44 with the line almost meeting the bow and I think he's anchored on the south coast of Mallorca near Rapita during June 2004. From the state of his t-shirt and cap, it's a 2003 boat - any older and he'd have lost his cap. Also, from the clothes and moustache, they are from Northern England, probably around Manchester.

Most mobos have that eye for towing at sea. Definitely not a trailerable boat, its much too big

Predator 56 at a guess.


My last boat had the 'eye' on the stem. As I was on bow and stern buoys I used a chain from the buoy to this with spring loaded hook as a heavy weather mooring preventer. Peace of mind if it blew and something nasty happened to the bow cleats which shared the buoy bridle.

Surely all anchor chain goes straight down cos that's wot it's sposed to do cos of the weight, different if it's warp.
