What size engine?

The BMC 2.5 diesel aka Thorneycroft 154 is quoted as 50bhp @ 3000 rpm.

The bmc 2.5 is,as you state,50 bhp continuous and 62 bhp max. intermittent.

when selecting a prop for a perkins 4.108 i would regard it's output as 42 BHP.

The bmc 1.5 is 30-35 bhp and the bmc 1.8 is 50 max.(later version),early 1.8's were 44.

Then the 11bhp Wing engine would explain why my Broom was advertised as '60hp' when we bought it!
