What size battery cable

What size battery cable do I need to connect my domestic battery, which is charged in parallel from the starter battery through a 100a Cyrix battery combiner. I have a 35 amp alternator. Would 6.0mmsq cable rated at 42amp be OK?

Think about the possibilty that you might have to use it to start the engine if the engine battery failed, and use the same size cables as that one to connect it to the main switch.

The length of the cable run is also a factor. If the battery,alternator and switch are all close not more than 2 metres i would recomend 25mm.
