Imagine the scenario, you're just back from a hard day at the helm, crossing the Wallet maybe, a day sail from one port to another, and now you're starving hungry and worn out so don't have the energy to cook. So how much would you pay for, say, an all day bigger breakfast.
Using good quality ingredients, two bangers, two thick slices of back bacon, two eggs, two hash browns, beans, mushrooms, tomato's and breakfast potato's ?
A mega mouthful of good stuff, but how much is it worth to you ?
Maybe Shotley Shipwreck and Fox's, even, may be interested in this as I know of at least one from there who reads the ECF even if he doesn't post

I reckon about £8 would be about the limit for me, i regularly have breakfast in the american diner in port solent, and that's what they charge, and they use very good quality ingredients

I have had a good quality brekkie with free range pork sausage bacon an eggs and the bits for 6.50 would pay 7.00 if black pudding included. DOnt bother with those crappy hash brown things. Tea must be well stewed :)

£6.95 for good quality.

£5.95 for volume with modest quality.

£3.95 for a good big breakfast gap with egg, bacon and mushrooms.

Coffee should be bottomless American style for £2

Eggs benedict with hash brown should be on the menu... £6.95

Big veggie breakfast.. £5.95

Pancakes( short stack with syrup and a side of crispy...) £4.95

Smoked salmon scrambled eggs on English muffins.. £6.50

Thick doorstep toast with fresh preserves £ 1.95

Petit dejune with a espresso £4.50

Single breakfast item cob... ( ie bacon or egg or sausage..) £2.50.

Large fresh OJ... £1.25

Corned beef hash with a egg sunny side up and a round of toast... £4.95

Like the menu.
Where are you opening your Cafe? :p

About £100.
I can't get a breakfast in Turkey, so just be thankful for English Breakfast, because mine has salad and olives in it, with stewed peppers. Yuk.
And no tea worthy of the name.

You must have a choice.
And include fresh crusty bread

I would pay £8 for a really top notch scoff

and

£3.99 for an Olympic Breakfast at the greasy spoon.

Best value I ever found was in British Kiel Yacht Club.
All you could eat for 1 Euro. That was in 2006, so may have gone up by now.
Apparently the beer I had the previous night was good as well, but I can't remember.

Go on........ how much did you pay (or how much did they try and charge??)

They/I haven't, though I've nicked some of Doug's suggestions ;)
Thread started as a result of some comments about The Shipwreck being expensive, though only one of those who commented has replied here
From the website they do seem a little highly priced on some things, but this could be down to having higher than normal quality. But unless people say which it is, I can see why Shotley are going to find it a little difficult to answer the comments
If they're doing a low quality bar menu, and charging those prices, I can see why people are complaining, but not many seem to be willing to say which it is
Like Jim's idea though, £100 sounds very reasonable :D
