What is this please?

Can anyone tell me what this is please? It’s between my fresh water tank and the pump. That’s the pump on the left of the picture.

Possibly. It has a twist/lock type union around the perimeter. I noticed it was leaking slightly earlier today but didn’t have time to investigate further. Basically I would remove it and join pipe direct from tank to pump to fix the leak. I’ve not had a filter at this point on any other boat even though, perhaps, they are a good idea. Will have a closer look next visit.
If anyone knows in the meantime please let me know.

On the input side to the pump, I would say a filter, you will soon know when you take it apart and clean the crud out.
Do you have a stopcock on the outlet from the tank? If not, then have a bucket and plug to hand!

Filter. Fairly coarse if it is like the one I purchased last year, but mine had barb fittings for 1/2" pipe.

Coarse Filter to protect the pump from any foreign object that has fallen in during filling.
