What is this part for?

There is a metal triangle part at the end of my boat. Do you know what is this for? Thank you.

Some sort of hull anode? Is there any wiring to the bolts on the inside of the hull?

The sad remains of long dissolved bar anode.
Its the steel securing bar, usually hidden inside the zinc block. ?
Probably to protect the sterngear.
Hopefully there will be a couple more substantial bar anodes under the hull close to the props and shafts to provide anodic protection.
That little absent one alone does not appear capable of doing the job.

Normally summed up as £200.00 quids worth of anode or £2K worth of props.
