Sorry, my snide remark was not just unfunny and uncalled for, but hypocritical - whenever I call a marina, and they say "What length?" I reply "38 foot".I did a line full width every 3", a nick every 1", it's easy to see at a glance without counting. To mark it every cm seemed a bit OTT and more accurate than I needed.
I paid 99p a litre (from Morrissons white diesel), and I have had to put 30L in this year so far, I must try to sail more.
