What is it?

Interesting you used the past tense.......I assume you got rid of it then (or maybe the whole boat).

I came across it in a box of bits and wondered of its worth ie whether it was removed because it was c@@p?

Looks identical to the folding prop on my GibSea76 which is driven by a Yanmar 1GM10. Made by T Norris marine engineers. Obviously it's not easy to tell the porp Diameter and pitch but I think mine is 12 inch / 7 inch. Details for T Norris below..

Sold the 27 and bought bigger a couple of years ago.
If there is no play in the blade pivot pins, then it is in good condition, but these are a wear part and need to be changed when play is evident.

If you clean up the metal you should find some numbers stamped in the metal. The first number should be the diameter (which you can measure to check) and the second the pitch. You might even find the manufacturers name as well.

If the direction of rotation is clockwise when viewed from the stern, it is right handed. http://www.propellerhub.com/rotation.html You can check the taper of the shaft and IIRC it is 10:1 on a metric shaft and 12:1 on an imperial shaft.

It could easily be from Norris or it might be a Gori. Either way it would certainly sell provided you know the diameter and pitch. The taper and keyway are easy to get adjusted.

The mechanism and blade shape is the same as my Gori, but the hub is different - more conical towards the shaft. Mine is definitely a Gori, as it is marked on the hub!

As far as I can see, it is meant to rotate clockwise looking from the stern.

After a bit of sanding, I have come across the following:

A symbol which surely resemmbles the capital letter 'R'.

And

16 x 10 (followed by) .01

Safe maybe to assume it is a Radice?

Somebody mentioned give ie movement in the mechanism..... There doesn't appear to be any at all. Do these wear in other places that I should look at before deciding what to do with it?
Thanks all.

I say again, Radice!
