What is it?

It's a motor yacht displaying an anchor ball. Looks like it came from the same yard as Steve Jobs new boat and looks horrid.

Seen anchored off Martinique.

There was an article on this boat in a French mag. It's a 67m support boat called Garçon for the owner's main boat: Ace a Lürssen of 87m, the largest boat at the Monaco Boat Show this year. It carries the support staff and the toys (360m² of deck space); it's long range (4500nm at 18 knots) and fast (25 knots in bad weather) and so it's on the spot when the other boat arrives.

Yup

Ace was anchored a little closer in and the toys were being exercised today.

I was sitting one evening with a pal in a wee rum shop on the beach near Port St Charles a couple of days before New Years Eve, and these two (Ace and Garcon) rocked up from over the horizon at a rate of knots.
They are both way to large to berth on the outer breakwater of the marina, so they had to anchor out.

Port St Charles have their own Facebook page for their visiting yachts, and both Ace and Garcon are featured on it : -

Here is the album they are in :

Although I am sure that many Scuttlebutters would agree that this photo of Defiant is more their scene :

Here is some more info about Ace : - http://www.charterworld.com/index.ht...cky-yacht-6236
Looks as if somebody went a bit beserk here with the basic concept of a layered wedding cake...... :)

And Garcon - I think she looks rather nice actually (I'm sorry Camelia for disagreeing with you) - a fine expedition ship with a Damen 'Axe' bow, only recently delivered from her Builder Amels :- http://www.moranyachts.com/Catalog/Yacht/?ID=637
I much prefer her to Ace.

Far better to carry your power boat;10 metre yacht and heli on board as does one of the Russian Oligarchs-heard tell of the one that arrived in Arisaig Bay and owners came ashore to the pub! by heli!

Garçon carries 4 tenders from 33' to 46' and a host of smaller stuff. as well as a Bell helicopter.
