What is commissioning?

I have only spoken to 2 delivery skippers about HR and they both said that for a quality boat they received it with lots of faults and the delivery trip was effectively the QC inspection.

I'll see your numerous faults and raise you a Najad with a complete steering failure halfway through the North Sea leg of it's delivery trip.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I don't get this obsession with Swedish boats - just because they cost an arm and a leg, they must be quality /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I've had one Volvo car and is was crap; previous boat had a Volvo engine (replaced lots of money later by a Yanmar) and it was crap; previous boat - and present one - have Furlex genoa furling gear and it was/is crap; previous boat had Selden mast and it started to show cracks,...
When I went shopping for a new boat there were two major requirements: no Volvo engine and no Selden mast. When money allows the Furlex's being replaced by a Harken.
