What is "Calculated THCF" ?

Good morning, I've found a figure, 1.003, which is apparently my calculated T(H) CF, I would be very grateful if someone has an odd moment to outline what it means? Many thanks, enjoy the sun LD

I don't know what the H is but TCF will be Time Correction Factor - ie it's multiplied against an elapsed race time to give a set of results.

It appears to be a handicap rating system similar to the Portsmouth Yardstick system. Hang on to the number in case you are ever asked for it on a race entry form etc.

Thats a fancy rating for a gaff rigged cutter unless we are talking a very big boat. Its into 30/35 ft cruiser racer territory

My guess would be that it is not analogous to IRC.

T(H)CF is the handicap system of the Old Gaffers Association. I have no idea what the (H) stands for.
