Well - 50hp runs a 5m rib along at 30+ knots ... 25hp runs a 4m rib along at 22knots (max) ...
15hp was more than powerful enough for a 22" Macwester Rowan (tended to drag in the water on Stb tack though) ... we managed to get 7 knots out of her with the engine at full pelt .... drank the fuel though! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Dave, I think you may have a slight disappointment coming. A Debutante will probably never exceed 6 knots.
Planing boats go a lot quicker, displacement boats don't. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Semi Circle, at 22ft has a Johnson 4hp on it......
My Limbo 6.6 had a Yamaha 4hp on it
My Corribee 21ft had a Evinrude 6hp, but I did use it for Water Ski events. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Having conferred with my personal adviser on this matter and he has seen the advert , it seems I may be looking at another mobo /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif thanks Neil /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
already gone so no point calling them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif but that's why I was keen , do you think I'd have got away with another project outside ? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Same here, we have a 25 year old Volvo MD7A. But a Volvo inboard is quite common, plenty of expertise around. I don't believe that's the case with Volvo outboards. I also have to admit to some anti-Volvo prejudice which could be purely irrational.
