What happened to the For Sale Forum? I have 2x Sonic 100's for sale !!

As per title, I cannot find the For Sale & Wanted Forums.
Have they been moved or discontinued?

Yeah, I've heard nothing either. Not very professional and makes the whole outfit look a bit amateurish if this is indeed the case! Let's hope it is just some 'bug' in the system !!
 
Well at the top of the page were you clic forum for the list it says forum side by side the right one does not show for sale the left does ,
 
I don’t want to appear rude or churlish because I (as a known mod) didn’t have anything to do with anyone’s access being denied. (It’s not in the volunteer mod privileges) but were these things you wanted to sell more than £400 by any chance? Did you try to post them for sale more than once? The admin staff get hacked off with people not reading the terms and conditions of the For Sale forum so I’ll leave you to guess what happens next.

For those who might not have access to the For Sale Boards and therefore cant read their T’s and C’s:
Please read and follow or your post may be deleted and future access denied without further notice.

1. This facility is available to regular contributors to the wider YBW forum who occasionally have a tangible item for sale.

2. The forum limit is £400. We hope this forum will act as somewhere where we can exchange boating odds and sods, rather than a major trading post.

3. Please state the price of the item on your post (no 'open to offers'). Items over the limit of £400 will be removed and please do not make offers such as 'Half of this engine for £400' as these will be removed too.

4. You may post links to auction websites for items that would be expected to sell for less that the £400 limit of this forum - please include a starting bid and/or 'buy now' price.

This allows users who want to sell products (within the forum limit) to do so in a secure environment (for the buyer and the seller). However, we will still not allow links to BOATS FOR SALE (except tenders), whether that be on auction sites or otherwise.

5. If you are posting a link to eBay in your thread, please state so in the thread title or your thread may be removed.

6. Please do not advertise animals, weapons, pharmaceuticals/drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or rentals (such as boats, berths, moorings, kit, property), etc., items for sale should be a one-time purchase of a physical boating item.

7. This is not a place to advertise company websites or wholesale, goods or services, it's for private individuals selling items they no longer want, not for commercial ventures.

Failure to comply with the above may result in your posts being removed and/or your access to this section of the forum being disabled without notice.

I’m unsure how it’s the case that “some boat parts available for £500” is undermining YBW as I would have no idea how to place or pay for such an advert on YBW, and I would have no idea who the audience would be. I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t be paying for a page in MBY to advertise a couple of secondhand sterndrives.

There could be a business opportunity here: if the item for sale is not a boat, and it’s worth more than £400, how about having a pay-as-you go system?

Alternatively you could just keep deleting these adverts, banning people from the for-sale forum, and losing revenue.

I’ll report your suggestion to those up the food chain.

(We’ve only in the last few years persuaded them to up the free ad limit to £400 from £200. )

I don’t think that is true.

If I had something boaty to sell for £1000 ( or £10000) for that matter I am not aware ybw can offer my anything other than a page in the magazine which I am never going to buy.

I have just looked at boats for sale and this just links to someone called Ukboats.com so this is not ybw either - so I can’t see the offer anything to either sell a boat or boat bits.

As an aside I would think they add better off linking with yacht market or similar as opposed to U.K. boats.com ( who I have never seen before and when looking at my own brand seem to have only 3 for sale as opposed to maybe 30 on the main sites )

That's the problem though isn't it, leaving people to guess what happened, rather than even having a copy and paste message to send to people.

This assumes of course that the forums are seen as having some value, rather than just being a nuisance.

However if one has spent one's career interpreting the doings and sayings of an imaginary friend in the sky, I'd imagine it seems a normal way of working.
