Whether you like it or not, this guy's name is now out in the public domain and MBY isn't responsible for giving the name out. Channel 5 is I believe!! So what you worried about?

I don't understand why it's been deleted, ok it had nothing to do with boating, but quite a lot dont on here. Is complaining about a draconian heavy hand waving about what steve101 was canned for and a few others have been going on about. Or has the legal dept. been on Kims' back or something. I just don't see the harm in the post, but I'm not the legal eagle type. I guess we'll never find out. No problems for me, I still enjoy the forum.

Well I think you obviously don't understand the word moderate.

I can't see that Pauline's post could be considered something other than moderate can you?

IPC can't expect to provide an open forum and at the same time try to give us all the walled garden approach. They only obligation they have is to make sure no laws are being broken, and certainly none were being broken.

Anyway who appointed you to the IPC legal team ;-) and if you don't won't to contribute you don't have to, this is a democracy here, well until Kim decides to delete something that is

Haven't had a chance to read everything else here so perhaps you have already had your answer but:

a) saying that we can publish a name here because a Channel 5 presenter made a mistake yesterday is no defence in law. Ditto just because some tabloids have chosen to splash names and pics all over the place this morning. Strangely enough I don't have a reporter on the case and so am in no position to confirm or deny the rumour;

b) I have better things to do than get ybw.com forums entangled with a potential legal minefield that has the square root of zero to do with boating;

c) I didn't delete it - Dom did and I've just confirmed to him it was the right thing to do;

d) what has all of this got to do with free speech? I don't know any of the personalities involved but it all looks like a sordid little mess to me in which the truth will be somewhat distanced from what you read in the tabloids over the next few days. Good luck to them, they obviouslyconsider it part of the job description to spend hours looking at the panelled walls of some courtroom or other.

e) are we really, really that fussed about all of this? Oh pleeease tell me no and give me some reason for hope /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
