Although it's tempting to buy the cheapest gas alarm, I wonder whether something which you obviously consider important should be bought on price, rather than reputation/quality.

Another consideration is that dedicated boat gas alarms can generally be connected to a solenoid valve, to isolate the gas supply automatically if a leak is detected.

This is needed for the MCA cert. They are notoriously intolerant of the FV wheelhouse environment, so not sure it will last. I only use the stove occasionally and the bottle is mounted outside the aft wheelhouse window, so I turn it off after every use.

Lidl and Aldi occasionally have them on offer. CE marked, so must be up to certain standards.

I've had a LIDL one (about £12) for around 3yrs and it certainly detects any gas quickly enough if you are a bit slow lighting the cooker. Have also fitted them on a couple of boats which required coding. Power consumption is around 100mA so you may want to disconnect if boat is not in use (and gas is definitely disconnected!).

I have a gas alarm fitted before I bought the boat. It works well, if I give it a whiff from a butane gas torch, as a quick test.

I have since see similar (tat?) on Ebay.
