Saw this number on a Sealine, G.B. is UK, what do the rest stand for and what year was it made?

It is the hull HIN.
I'd guess its a S42 hull no. 200 and built in july 2008, which might be wrong as its only Dec '07!! But i'm probably wrong on all accounts.

I take it you have photoshop the black writing onto the pic, as the number is usually white melted into the grp, well the one on my sealine is!
Are you sure it was an 8, and not a 6?

I'm sure someone with much more knowledge will be along shortly.

Cheers

Al.

I think this is what it all means:-

GB=Country of build
SIL=Builders code (Fairline is FLN)
4200=Serial number of boat (not boat number)
K=month that the hull was built (A would be for Jan and L would be for Dec etc)
7=Year the hull was built
08=model year ie 2008 specification

So, this boat was built in Britain by Sealine in November 2007 to a 2008 model year specification with a serial number of 4200.

Hope this helps!

Very close, although I think the "42200" means S42 number 200.

GB=Country of build = GB
SIL=Builders code = Sealine
42=Model code = S42
200=Serial number of boat (= Hull Number for Sealines, 200)
K=month that the hull was built = November
7=Year the hull was built = 2007
08=Model year = 2008 specification

Ours is gbsil23034g202

This ties in with S28's comment that 42 is the model number as ours is an S23.

I'd often wondered what the numbers meant but now due to the power of the forum everything is once again clear /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
